Many funerals are carried out with the family of the deceased unaware of their rights and access to government financial help. We keep up to date with Government help that can be accessed by families who have lost a loved one. We work together with the Department of Human services to keep the community and our families informed and up to date on these important matters.
Through our vast experience, we will assist you through every aspect of honouring your loved one. From organizing ministers or celebrants, cremation or burial plots, to officiating funeral services, and even the finer points such as floral arrangements, newspaper notifications and order of service sheets. Nothing is ever too much when it comes to planning a funeral. One of our caring funeral directors will be here to guide you through the planning of the funeral assisting you every step of the way.
Our friendly, professional and highly experienced administration team are usually the first point of call and will ensure that the administration tasks are completed with diligence and professionalism.
The role of Administration is to take the initial arrangement meeting booking, schedule funeral director visits and meetings, book in-house and external funeral facilities usage, liaise on your behalf with medical staff to obtain a Medical Certificate of Cause of Death, or the Coroner’s Release Documents. In fact they will work right the way through to inputting and registering a Death Certificate from Births Deaths and Marriages.
Embalming is a process involving medical procedures where the body is preserved and the natural decay process is slowed. This process usually takes between three to six hours, but is necessary when an open casket home viewing is planned for as part of the funeral. Many cultural rituals require the deceased to lay in state, unrefrigerated with the family for a few days prior to the final funeral service. This is only made possible through embalming. It is also required by law when international repatriations (flying a loved one to their homeland) take place.
We are qualified embalmers and take care of the entire process from start to finish. This gives families confidence that you’re loved one is being taken care of with respect and dignity by trained professionals.
The three key objectives of embalming are to:
Cremation is a process where the body is placed in a crematory furnace rendering the remains to ashes. It is the least expensive way to farewell your loved one.
We can arrange cremations at any of the local crematoriums in SEQ.
Prices start from $1,550 for an unattended cremation. Extra costs will be incurred for coffin upgrades, embalming, and offsite/onsite funeral services prior to cremation.
Burial is a process where the body is placed in a burial plot. Burials can take place at any of the SEQ cemeteries whether private or council owned. Heaven Funerals will guide you through the many options available.
Burial plot prices start from $2,000. The average price for council plots is $4,000. Private cemetery plot’s start from $5,500. These prices are for the cemetery costs only. Additional funeral home charges will be incurred based on what products and services that are ordered.
Repatriation simply means sending your loved one home either interstate or internationally.
In this case we will organize everything for their smooth return home. We will prepare your loved one and all the documentation, book and pay for the flight/transport home and keep you fully informed every step of the way.
Your loved one will be received at the homeland/state and be checked over at the nominated local Funeral Home. They will ensure that your loved one has arrived in good shape. They will then assist your family as much or as little as you decide you need.
Repatriation prices start from $5,500 interstate and $6,500 internationally.
Exhumation is a process of exhuming (digging up) the remains from one location and cremating/reburying in a second location. This requires two sets of documentation, one for the exhumation and one for the reinterment/cremation.
Exhumation prices start from $2,900 plus additional product and service fees for cremation/second interment.
A memorial service takes place where the body of the deceased is unavailable. In most cases a photo of the deceased can be placed in a prominent place at the front of the service and loved ones can share their thoughts about their missing family member. One of our funeral directors will assist and guide your family to ensure that everything is organized and runs smoothly.
Memorial service prices start from $500 plus any additional products and services you require.
We can organise the live streaming of your service to family members who are not able to make it back to the service. We can also provide a video of the service in most cases.
We have ties with a number of different Grief Councillors. They can provide good help to get you through those difficult days ahead as you adjust to the new family make up after someone passes.
Unfortunately there are more deaths by suicide than through car accidents in Australia and the number is climbing. Heaven Funerals are proud supporters of Suicide prevention services will help and assist in any way we can to make it as smooth as possible for you and your family.
