A full-service cremation is where the family has chosen to hold a full funeral service before the cremation takes place. This funeral service can be held on-site at a crematorium chapel or off-site at our Springwood Chapel, your home or a family church followed by a cremation at a crematorium.
With full-service cremation funerals, we would have you meet with one of our Funeral Directors either at our Funeral Home in Springwood or a place where you feel comfortable, e.g. your home. In this meeting, we will ask what ceremonial, religious and traditional needs you would like incorporated as you say goodbye to your loved one. We will listen to your needs, make suggestions and ensure that everything is accurately recorded. Things to be recorded include things such as venues, ministers, celebrants, flowers, coffins, hearses, music, powerpoint type data projection, live streaming, butterfly or pigeon releases, the list goes on.
There are also multiple government documents that need to be completed in order to carry out the cremation. We will guide you through those forms and ensure that everything is in order. It is always handy to have the deceased’s passport, birth certificate or any other form of identification as a way to verify the information recorded on the documents. From these and other questions we will also gather the Death Certificate registration questions. These meetings typically take anywhere between 40-60 minutes and vary depending on the needs of the family.
We also understand that things change. We want you to know that this is fine and happens frequently. The most important thing to us is that you are happy with how this important final farewell goes. What’s most important to us is that you feel comfortable with the decisions made.
